Hunger and Homelessness Week 2008

SATURDAY, MARCH 1ST, 2008!

Conner Capuchin Soup Kitchen:
Time: 10:15am - 1pm
Location: 1820 Mt.Elliott Avenue, Detroit, MI 48207-3496
Description: We will be serving meals to the homeless and low income Detroit residents.

We will be meeting around 10:15am in front of the Student Center and carpooling to the Soup Kitchen.

MARCH 4th and 5th, 2008!

Conner Canned Food Drive:
Time: 10:00am - 2pm
Location: WSU Student Center

We need volunteers to work the table. Please let us know if you're interested and when you are available by emailing wsuprojectvolunteer@yahoo.com! Also, we would appreciate donations of canned food!

We will meet at the Student Center at 12:15pm and carpool to the site.
We need about 15 people!

Blood Drive and Career Fair

Blood Drive

Wayne State is having a Blood Drive the week of February 11th - 15th, 2008 .

The Drive is in need of volunteers to work snack tables, recruit walk-ins, and distribute information. If you are interested in helping with the Blood Drive, please email Veronica at az2986[at]wayne[dot]edu with your availability!

Volunteer at Career Fair and Get Free Food

The following is not officially through Project Volunteer, but if you are interested in participating, please contact PJ Rao from Career Services directly at prao[atwayne[dot]edu.

The 2008 Employment Expo will be held in the Ballroom of the Student Center Building on Thursday, March 6, 2008 from 1pm - 4pm

Career Services is looking for volunteers to assist with escorting employers from either Anthony Wayne Drive OR parking structures #2 and #5 to the Student Center Building and/or helping employers transport table display items (if needed).

Volunteers would be needed between the hours of 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Food will be provided to volunteers and letters of appreciation/ achievement can be written by Career Services to the group for your portfolio or to your national organizations.

This is a great volunteer opportunity, so if you’re interested, please email PJ Rao.
